Our Governors

Terms of Reference Operating procedures

John Divall - Chairman & LEA
John has been a governor since 2001, and Chair at St Peter’s for the last 6 years. After 28 years with BP Exploration, he sees being a governor as a way to fulfil his lifelong aspiration to help young people identify and achieve challenging goals. In his spare time, he regularly assaults his trusty guitar in the sound-proof sanctuary of his recording studio.

Wendy Thompson - Vice Chairman
Wendy has been a Foundation governor for over 7 years and Vice-chair for 5. All four of her children have passed through St Peter’s hands. Wendy has a special heart for the well-being of the children and for their spiritual development within the caring family of St Peter’s

Rev. Paul Hinckley
Paul joined St Peter’s church as our new vicar in May 2006, moving from a lively church team in Billericay. He was educated in this area and initially trained as an engineer at Farnborough Technology College. Paul is very keen to support the development of all members of St Peter’s, and on fostering the links between church and school.

Gill Weeks
Gill became a parent governor in 2002 and changed to become a Foundation Governor later that year. She has three older children who have been through the school and are now at Yateley School.  Gill is committed to supporting St. Peter's in any way she can, both through the Governing Body and by her involvement in the various fundraising and sporting events.

Roger Lamb
Roger has been a Foundation governor since 2004. He has drawn on his background in business and IT to support the school, and has special responsibility for the crucial area of Health and Safety

Jeff and his family have lived in Yateley for 22 years and both his children attended St. Peters. He feels it is a privilege to contribute to the development of such a fine school."

Faith Bailey
Faith has recently joined the governing body.  She is strongly committed to both education and the church, and wants to combine the two. She is a teacher, and therefore has relevant experience and loves working with children. Before teaching, she was a scientist in industry and is consequently looking forward to being the science governor. In her spare time, Faith loves walking and visiting interesting places with her family.

Richard Tickell
Richard has been a Foundation governor for over 6 years. He chairs the Finance committee and ensures that the school makes best use of the funds that comes its way

Francis Burdock
Frances has worked in the NHS in a variety of roles, currently performance management.  She would like to ensure that pupils receive a solid moral foundation and are encouraged to achieve their highest potential, whilst having a fun and enjoyable experience.
As the Special Educational Needs Governor Frances shares the concerns of parents in understanding the needs of children especially when these needs are very specific to individual children.

Dave Walker
Dave joined as a parent governor in September ‘06 and has a daughter in year 6 at the school (his eldest having moved on to Yateley School).  His background is in Project Management and  Mechanical Engineering.
He enjoys getting involved in the school by maintaining the website and puts his management and high-tech background to good use.

Janet Southern - Ex Officio
We welcome Janet as our Headteacher in April 2008.
